About NatCon'
The National Conference (NATCON) is the flagship annual academic event exclusively organised by the School of Social Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies (SSSIS) at Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law. Conceived as a platform for interdisciplinary dialogue, NATCON aims to bring together scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and students to critically engage with contemporary socio-legal issues of national relevance.

NatCon'24
NATCON’24, formally titled the 2-Day National Conference on “Environmental Degradation, Social Change, Development and ‘The Youth’: Exploring Contradictions; Mapping Crisis Management and Designing Functional Policy for Sustainability”, was held on 25–26 April 2024 at Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab, in collaboration with the Punjab Pollution Control Board, promoting youth-centric, sustainability-focused discourse.

NATCON’25, formally titled the 2-Day National Conference on “‘Seasons of Life’: Reconstructing Ageism and Youthism for a More Inclusive Society, Aiming at Social and Human Development”, was held on 20–21 September 2025 at Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, under the auspices of the National Institute of Social Defence, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, in collaboration with the Indian Sociological Society (RC-25) and Law Teachers India.

Organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and National Institute of Social Defence, with collaborations from LiveLaw, the Indian Sociological Society, and Law Teachers India, the conference received 177 research papers, presented across 30 parallel sessions by scholars and students nationwide.

The School of Social Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies (SSSIS), RGNUL, Punjab, commemorated World Health Day on 7 April, marking 77 years of the World Health Organization. The convention, themed “A Healthier You is a Happier You,” addressed India’s growing lifestyle-related health concerns highlighted in the Economic Survey. Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Gill and Prof. (Dr.) Seema Vinayak shared insightful perspectives on the sociological and psychological dimensions of health.
